Each lamp is hand-blown using a custom mold to form the body; feet and beak are hot-attached for whimsical anatomical accuracy. The bird is designed to rest on its back, feet raised—recalling the sight of a napping animal with a sly twist. After puntying, the tail end is carefully opened and flared to accommodate a candelabra socket that clips seamlessly into the form.
