The fertile and picturesque region of Aigialia around the county town of Egion in the northwest of the Peloponnese is extremely scenic and full of lush vegetation. Beautiful tree-lined sea bays, citrus-filled gardens, olive groves and vineyards characterize this stretch of coastline. We use 100% vintage and varietal Patrinolia olives (also called koutsorelia) for our olive oil. This olive variety grows almost exclusively in the north of the Peloponnese. Only about 4% of Greek olive trees bear the fruit of patrinolia. The taste is fresh, mild & medium-fruity, with a slight banana note, balanced in bitter notes and spiciness. Less spicy in the finish compared to olive oils from the well-known Koroneiki olive variety, making it also ideal for new olive oil discoverers and restaurateurs in terms of taste.
