Despite of the progress that has been made in therapy of many solid tumors the gold standard of glioblastoma multiforme multimodal treatment has not changed for many years. The results from clinical trials have been remained disappointing. Therefore, treatment of this tumor has been challenge for neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists and radiation oncologists. In this paper risk factors, prognostic/predictive factors, new directions of the innovative therapeutic options in glioblastoma multiforme were discussed.
