Living in Florida and being a gardening enthusiast these last 10 years has made me somewhat of an amateurs' entomologist. Here in the subtropics we live in " bug seasons". Also wide spread use of pesticides has rendered our bugs somewhat super bug like. I don't like the thought of DEET on my skin so I set out to formulate an essential oil based spray that would work here in the subtropics with our super bugs. After about 20 failed formulas, we went on a vacation to the big island of Hawaii. While there I met an essential oil grower and experienced what I would describe as a "spiritual experience" with the volcanic soil on that island. This powerful soil imparts it's magic to the things that grow there.
