[Original Case Pack: 15 units] Made by Tosenkyo Foods, a company based in the home of an area known for its sophisticated somen culture, Mentsuyu Noodle Dipping Sauce has a savoriness with substantial umami and a touch of sweetness, which complements a variety of noodles, such as somen (vermicelli-like thin noodles), udon (medium to thick noodles), and soba (buckwheat noodles). It is crafted with premier ingredients that include renowned bonito from Makurazaki in Kagoshima Prefecture and the company’s local spring water that was once selected as one of the 100 greatest water sources in Japan. This sauce does not come concentrated, so it’s ready to use without dilution. You can also use this umami-rich sauce as a versatile seasoning to accompany a variety of dishes. No food additives or colorings are used. Because this sauce is not concentrated, you don’t have to dilute it with water when using it as a noodle dipping sauce. You can just pour it into a bowl and dig in immediately.

this review is difficult for me because I enjoy their products, but they don’t seem to care about customer service and good protective packaging. three separate shipments were damaged, and Umami didn’t make efforts to change the protective packaging. I asked her to individually wrap each bottle after the first damaged shipment..She literally texted no. Notice only one or two pieces of bubble wrap in the picture. Wafer thin boxes. Faire tried to negotiate on my behalf. They ignored Faire.

Superb selection of really unique items! I was initially a little skeptical on how these would fit in to our store, as we are mostly cheese and charcuterie focused, but they've really taken off. Packaging is always superb, and I love the flexibility to order single items - makes it much easier to try new things. My one quibble would be that the Faire descriptions on some items aren't for the right item - luckily it is easy to go to Umami Insider's website to get correct text.
