As they rise to the surface, rain and snow waters pass through these rocks and become enriched with minerals and salts at a concentration much higher than that of seawater. The harvest and preparation are done in summer, in the only remaining artisanal saltworks in the region "El Sali de Cambrils": Produced by the natural evaporation of waters from small springs flowing into the valley.
