As the changes in London's Soho swirl around it, the businesses becoming slicker and the drinks more expensive, Bar Italia remains a respite the neighbourhood of old. Opened in 1949 by Italian husband and wife Lou and Caterina Polledri, it serves quality coffee to the city's residents of which have included David Bowie and Paul McCartney (the band Pulp even wrote a song about the cafe).
