Check your Wick – Before lighting your candle, always trim the cotton wick to ¼ inch using a wick trimmer. (Check out our "Candle and Pet Accessories" page for a wick trimmer and other candle accessories.) Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning and dripping. Also keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris at all times. 2.
