Palm kernel oil or magnanga or lang noir is an oil extracted from palm kernels, which is extracted from the same palm from which palm oil is extracted. This palm is native to Central and West Africa. Its scientific name is Elaeis and is known, popularly, as the oil palm. Palm kernel oil has a high resistance to oxidation, does not go rancid easily, which contributes to its greater durability. In addition, its emollient and moistening properties prevent the appearance of stretch marks during pregnancy. Palm kernel oil contains equal amounts of saturated fatty acids and unsaturated fatty acids. It is rich in vitamin E and therefore helps preserve the suppleness and elasticity of the skin.
