The design, from the Day of the Dead series, features grinning hot air balloons sharing the sky with a biplane. The entire Day of the Dead series is brightly colored and whimsical homage to the Dia de Los Muertos traditions. The belief is that souls of the departed are returning for a brief visit. The living don’t mourn them; they prepare for their return as if welcoming honored guests to a lively party. It is a celebration of life.
