We Taste White Grape, Nougat, Floral Tea Processing Washed Region Cusco Grown By Victoria Quispe Mamani, Paulina Mamani Ormachea, and Marta Escalante Quispinga Elevation 1,700 - 2,000 masl Varieties Bourbon, Typica Mujeres de Cusco is made from the offerings of three women coffee producers: Victoria Quispe Mamani, Paulina Mamani Ormachea, and Marta Escalante Quispinga, all of whom produce outstanding coffees. These three women live in the district of Yanatile, located approximately four hours from the central city of Cusco in Southern Peru. While farmers in Yanatile grow citrus and cocoa, coffee is the primary crop, and even appears on the district's coat of arms. Yanatile's history with coffee stretches back over 50 years. Most of the population is from the area, and speaks the native language Quechua. The lush, fertile valleys in Yanatile are an idea climate for growing coffee, but transporting the crop can be extremely challenging. Very few farms have access to a road, so it takes several hours of densely foliated slopes to reach most of the farms. In the cup, we're tasting notes of refreshing white grape, decadent nougat, and a body that's light and floral. This is a standout coffee from southern Peru.
