Wholesale Molinillo (Traditional Whisk)

We are thrilled to finally be able to offer molinillos (pronounced moh-lee-NEE-yohs), the traditional tool for blending a cacao drink! These ones are hand-made by an artisan in Mexico. Nick visited the maker's workshop personally and he sends them to us directly. They're made of Mexican Alder wood. To use, put the chopped cacao and hot water in a mug or pot, hold the molinillo between your hands, and move hands forward and back to rotate, until the cacao is blended and looks foamy on top. For those seeking a quiet, introspective experience of making cacao, this is for you! The working molinillos come in multiple sizes: * Small - 6-7 inches (16cm, for 1 drink, comes in regular or a pen version) * Medium - 9-10 inches (23cm, for 1-3 drinks) * Large - 13-14 inches (35cm, for 4+ drinks in a pitcher) Plus we now offer molinillo keychains that, while not big enough to make a drink, still have loose wooden rings made with the usual artisanal craftmanship. The Special Edition large molinillos are made with much more time and attention. They take up to 3 hours to finish, and each is unique for the rest. The family described to us their way of putting thoughts and intuition into each one. We're starting out with only two of them. Don't miss out!
