The cowrie shells and seeds were braided to create this belt. The braid itself is made of plant-dyed cotton string, and the shells were once used as currency, or sometimes as part of a bride’s dowry. This belt was made with motifs and processes that have been unchanged for a long time in this region. The middle part is approx 48cm + 60cm of ties
