Sencha - Japanese Green Tea Origin: Yame (八女), Japan Sencha are steamed Japanese green tea leaves. The steaming process prevents the leaves from oxidizing. After steaming, the leaves are kneaded, dried, and rolled into needle-shaped leaves. This sencha has an aroma of fresh green tea leaves and an astringent taste. Yame is located deep inside the mountains of the northern part of Kyushu Island. The climate in these mountains, warm during the day and cold during the night, intensifies the taste of the tea.
