There’s been a springboard in Salthill since 1885. The current diving structure, beloved by swimmers all around, was erected in 1950 and designed by Bart Faherty. Built by a local Salthill company James Stewart & Co. who employed a local champion swimmer to retrieve lost hammers and chisels during building works.
