Jean-Baptiste Muret works at the Cabinet des Médailles, which became the Department of Coins, Medals, and Antiques of the National Library of France, where he serves as an employee-draftsman. As part of this job, he also makes molds of coins and engraved stones, and he keeps inventory records of the cabinet's archaeological objects. In a 35-year career, he draws more than 8,000 antique objects.
