An actifan, fanzine editor and filksinger, Juanita Coulson (née Wellons) has been widely known in filk music circles since the 1950s for her singing and songwriting. Her folk singer style is as engaging as it is unique. At NorthAmeriCon 1979 she managed to out-sing the whistle of a riverboat (the "Belle of Louisville").
