Triphala is a dried powdered herb mix (also called churna), an ancient ayurvedic tridoshic combination, containing three Indian fruits; Amla or Amalaki, Haritaki, and Bibhitaki. It has all six tastes and has been used traditionally for balancing the three doshas, rejuvenating and toning the digestive system. It has long been used in Ayurveda for eyewash, mouthwash, and facial masks, skin pastes due to its cleansing properties and affinity to skin and is also considered to relieve constipation and repair damaged hair. Traditionally taken as a rasayana or rejuvenative for the gastrointestinal tract in the morning or at night for mild laxative purposes.
