Dejavu about a trip... I was discovered for the first time by the natives of Mesoamerica and South America; later, thanks to the Spanish, I was also introduced to the rest of the world. The leaves of my plant of the genus Nicotiana were prepared to be smoked long before the arrival of the first European settlers. The Central American 'Indians' met by Christopher Columbus, used it as a medicine, to remove the sense of hunger and fatigue as well as to alleviate pain. It was used by many native tribes, especially during the most important religious and social rites at least starting from the first century.
