Camomile blue, also known as real chamomile, is an annual herbaceous plant and thrives throughout Europe. Real chamomile can grow up to 50 cm tall and has white, characteristically scented flowers; the deep blue shade of the essential oil is produced during distillation when chamazulene forms. Chamomile has been known as a medicinal plant since ancient times; in naturopathy, chamomile blue is used for respiratory, stomach and intestinal problems as well as skin problems.
