With Royce behind bars, Lailani is slowly but surely attempting to put the pieces of her life back together. She finds the strength to move on with the help of Simba and an FBI agent she's befriended. However, the FBI agent is a little too helpful, prompting Lailani to think there's an undercover motive behind her friendliness. These best friends continue to fight their feelings for each other as they strive to get their lives in order. Simba is constantly faced with Emory's insecurity and bickering about his friendship with Lailani. On the other hand, Lailani has to control her feelings for Simba and respect his new relationship.
