Heritage Green is our most popular single origin green tea (after Matcha!). Large, vividly colored tea leaves reflect their careful cultivation, as well as the diverse ecosystem they grow from. A plum aroma leads the flavor profile, but the creamy sugar-cane texture steers the imagination toward even richer fruits—dates, or mangoes. The green tea vegetal character tastes invitingly dark and full: not like grass at all, more like deep forest. With zero astringency in the finish, and a soft, clean mineral note. We recommend Heritage Green as an introduction to green teas, in part because of its forgiving steeping nature. If your water temperature gets above 170°, or you over-steep the leaves, it resists the typical bitterness. You’ll find the same resilience in all our ancient tea tree varieties, which include black, oolong, and puerh teas.
