Lung Ta flags ("wind horses") are traditionally placed in temples, homes, mountains, trees, and other sacred places in Tibet and Nepal. Over time, they wear out due to the action of wind and rain, thus symbolizing the impermanence and delicacy of life and all things. MEANING OF THE COLORS They represent the elements, the Buddha families, and the directions: blue (space), white (water), red (fire), green (air), and yellow (earth). According to tradition, when the wind touches the flags, it spreads the prayers and blessings inscribed on them, bringing positive energies and benefits to all beings.
