Il 10 ottobre 1847, 18 politici si riunirono al Gasthof Zum Halben Mond di Heppenheim per portare avanti con tutta determinazione la creazione di uno Stato nazionale tedesco e la concessione dei diritti civili. Oggi sappiamo che questo circolo della cospirazione è stato un pioniere della Rivoluzione di Marzo e dell'Assemblea di Francoforte. Possiamo quindi affermare con orgoglio che la prima pietra della libertà è stata posta nell'Heppenheimer Gasthof Zum Halber Mond, oggi sede della fucina degli spiriti. Questa idea rivoluzionaria ci ha ispirato a creare il Whisky Freiheit 1848 come omaggio a questo periodo. Il whisky è stato quindi distillato con successo a Heppenheim dal 2013.
