The history of La Vera paprika passes through Cuacos de Yuste (Cáceres). We are a family business, founded around 1965 by Orencio Hoyo Pérez, in the town of Cuacos de Yuste, in the heart of La Vera. Initially, the founder did not have his own mills; the peppers were ground in the local mill. But soon he was able to acquire a couple of mills and begin the installations, which he would later expand two more times to meet the growing demand from his customers. In 1987, the second generation joined the company and it was established as a limited company. The activity continued to grow, which led to moving the operations to a new plant in the local industrial park in 1998. The paprika produced by our company is subject to rigorous traceability controls and analyses to ensure that the product meets our customers' expectations. Currently, in addition to IFS certification, our concern for consumer needs has led us to obtain Kosher and Halal certifications; we are also present in FACE as a gluten-free and lactose-free product and we have the Organic Production seal.Read their story
