Shell Yeah by Jaks is a woman-owned coastal décor studio based in Connecticut. I launched this brand during a tough season because making art has always brought me back to joy. With a BFA in ceramics and a day job on an engineering team at a genomic sequencing lab, I blend design sensibility with precision in every piece. The collection began on a quiet beach day with a single oyster shell. Today I reclaim shells from local restaurants and shoreline cleanups and transform them into handmade oyster shell wine stoppers and scallop shell trinket dishes. Each shell is naturally unique—no two curves, colors, or ridges are the same—so every item feels one-of-a-kind. I level, seal, and hand-gild each piece. Stoppers are fitted with food-grade stainless steel and snug silicone rings; dishes are sealed to be water-resistant and food-safe.
