Method: Empty the packet mix, including the stock sachet, to a pan. Add 1500ml of cold water. Bring to the boil, turn down to a simmer and cook for at least 45 minutes until the barley is soft. The longer you leave it cooking, the thicker the stew ends up. Serve on its own with some crusty bread. (Option – fry some beef strips and add to the pan to finish cooking.
