When the top of the butter crock is place onto the base the water creates an airtight seal keeping your butter fresh for up to 1 month (change water every 2-3 days. *Measuring 4″ in diameter and 4 1/8″ in Height. *Attractive Hummingbird design. Several heavy ceramic items broke during shipping. I received a refund but still had to incur the original shipping. The blue hummingbird butter crock is packed into a small box so tightly that I could not remove them.

the blue butter crock/bell is VERY difficult to get out of its packaging, the bell is stored in the base with a piece of cardboard wrapped inside. I can never get the pieces apart (have bought 4 blue ones so far) had to ask a strong male to pull them apart with fingers crossed that it wouldn't break!
