The Great Wave Off Kanagawa, also known as The Great Wave, is Hokusai’s most famous work of the woodblock print series “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji”, and many of its originals hang in various Western Museums and collections. The image depicts a rogue wave endangering three boats off the coast of Kanagawa with Mount Fuji rising in the background.
