About L'Or Vert
It all begins in the peatlands — the vast, pristine peat bogs of southern Chile, between Puerto Montt and Tierra del Fuego. In these landscapes where land and water mingle, families of harvesters have for generations preserved the delicate art of collecting Sphagnum magellanicum. This ancestral know-how is passed down from parent to child. Each harvester knows their bog like their own home: they know where to take from, how much to leave, and how to protect the ecosystem so the moss can regrow naturally. Their livelihood depends on the long-term sustainability of this resource — which is why they are its primary guardians. Our Chilean partner, with over 20 years of experience in exporting sphagnum, works closely with these rural communities. Each batch is inspected, sorted, and carefully packaged before being shipped by sea to Paris, where L'Or Vert handles distribution on the French and European markets.
