Hi I'm Lauren, founder of Olly Olly & co. I learned to surf off the coast of Ireland where I was born when I was 12 and have always loved the ocean. In 2016-2017 I took a sabbatical to travel around South America and work in Australia. I ended up working in a beach bar in a little surfer town in Peru. Every week we’d do a beach clean up and I was horrified by the amount of rubbish we’d pick up week in week out. I’ve always been pretty eco conscious(I was the girl in work who always had a reusable water bottle/coffee mug/tupperware before it was the norm) but when I returned to London I was hyper aware of all the decisions I was making on a day to day basis and how it impacted our planet. Struggling to find activewear that was premium quality, technical enough for the wide variety of classes I was doing while also made in an ethical way was proving difficult so I decided to create my own! By using fabric made from regenerated ocean waste I created a solution to my problem of the ocean waste I had seen from all my beach clean ups. Read their story
