Ghassoul, also called Rhassoul, is a mineral clay obtained from Moroccan volcanic rocks. Naturally rich in silica and highly absorbent mineral salts (Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, Sodium, Phosphorus, Potassium, as well as provitamins), rhassoul is traditionally used in hammam treatments to capture impurities and gently cleanse the skin and hair. Without soap or surfactants, this saponiferous clay, known for its purifying, regenerating, sebum-regulating, and softening properties, is highly valued for hygiene, hair care, and sensitive skin. Used in masks, poultices, scrubs, or mud baths, Ghassoul leaves the skin clean, delicately scented, and extremely soft. It is also renowned for coating and strengthening the hair, brightening the complexion, and facilitating the removal of blackheads.
