This is our moonphase calendar Tungl is Icelandic for ‘moon’ and to our ear it sounds both heavy and dark but also mythical and magical. The Tungl moonphase is the first idea we brought to life. Conceived from 40’s nostalgia, we imagined it being on the wrist of Cary Grant in a scene from ’North by Northwest’. Inspired by the golden era of similar timepieces it is both adaptable and robust. The curves are a vital part of the design. The curved dial, the curved hands and the curved glass are all created to emulate the feel of a vintage watch.
