Roadkill Cactus (Consolea rubescens) is a unique, tall-growing cactus with a trunk-like stem that branches into flattened, bumpy paddles. The paddles are typically dark green or purple and have variable spines. Native to the Caribbean, this species can reach heights of up to 20 feet. It produces red, orange, or yellow flowers. As a soft cactus, it is not frost-hardy and needs to be brought indoors during freezing temperatures. It thrives in bright sunlight and requires well-draining soil with deep, infrequent watering.
