Magnificent antique kantha tapestry made from upcycled old saris, selected piece by piece by Lilo in Jaipur. The saris are manually assembled by women in the villages of Bengal and northern India to form a slightly quilted fabric (it's the ancestor of our boutis and quilts). The front and back are made from separate saris and are completely different, resulting in a 2-in-1 tapestry. It should be noted that this ancestral artisanal technique includes the use of small repair patches when necessary. This contributes to the uniqueness and authenticity of the kantha.
