"Mindful Tito" is my first marriage between my mandala style painting and my favorite character. Tito stands for playful creativity, and the mandala represents mindfulness (I had to be totally focused to the point of not breathing while painting fine details on it). Therefore, this piece is a reminder to stay present in your pursuit of creative leisure and pleasure. This painting has presented the biggest challenge so far. The symmetry and smallness of the surface made every imperfection starkly visible, even though I was painting the smallest details with a paintbrush thinner than a toothpick. By the end, I had to learn to let go of perfection and remember I paint for FUN above all.
