About Alaska Paintings

I'm a third-generation Alaskan creative whose art is inspired by northern light, land and life and European impressionist painters. What makes my art different from many northern painters is the rich brushstrokes and sensitive color changes that are reminscient of museum-quality Impressionist paintings. A wide range of northern animals entrance the viewer: wolves, bears, moose, and marine animals such as orcas and otters. Sweeping landscapes include coastal areas, snow winter peaks, lush wildflower fields, and rich autumn boreal forest foliage. Birds abound: chickadees, ravens, eagles, owls and more. I make my her home in Anchorage, Alaska with my two young children. I teach art and design to local high schoolers. I speak German and have studied several languages while working and completing art studies overseas. I enjoy cross-country skiing, drawing, reading art books, and helping out with community art and design events to help make my northern outpost city more cultured. See more at amandafaith.art.
