DTF transfers must be applied with a heat press. A household iron will not work on these transfers.  Most materials work well however spandex material is not recommended. Sublimation transfers must be applied with a heat press. A household iron will not work for this type of transfer. Only light-colored or bleached-out 65 polyester/35 cotton or light-colored or bleached-out 50 cotton/50 polyester material will work for this type of transfer.
