The Sanskrit word Chakra translates to wheel or circle and referred to the energy centres of the human body. These energy centres were developed into ancient meditation practices and beliefs, commonly connected to Hinduism and Buddhism. The early concepts for Chakra were developed in the early traditions of Hinduism. Beliefs differ between the Indian religions, with many Buddhist texts consistently mentioning five chakras, while Hindu sources reference six or seven These Chakras have been labelled the Root Chakra, Sacral Chakra, Solar Plexus Chakra, Heart Chakra, Throat Chakra, Third Eye Chakra and Crown Chakra. With each Chakra relates to a specific part of the human body.
