About Off Grid Studio

Off Grid Studio is a small independent studio founded by artist Celine Gordon, where she creates art inspired by the rhythms and landscapes of the Southwest using natural pigments sourced directly from the land. She forages for rocks across New Mexico and breaks them down by hand, grinding them into fine powders with a mortar and pestle. These pigments are then mixed with a binder to create watercolor paints, each carrying the unique hues and essence of the place where it was found. Celine uses these handmade earth pigments to create original paintings and block prints. Her newest project, Earthbound Tarot, is a 78-card tarot deck painted entirely with these foraged pigments, embodying a connection between the natural world and the archetypal journey of tarot. In addition to works on paper, she also hand-dyes and screenprints apparel using natural plant dyes. Every step of her process reflects an off-grid ethos—working with what nature provides, crafting her own materials, and making art that is both place-based and environmentally conscious.
