About It’s The Balm Diggity All-Natural Lip Balm

It's The Balm Diggity is the creation of a 4th generation farmer, Sean Morrissey. He grew up in Stark County, Illinois, where his family has cultivated the earth for over 70 years. In 2015, Sean became a beekeeper. Sean and his father, Phil, farm together, planting corn, soybeans, and wheat. Sean and Phil knew the benefits of introducing more honeybees to the farm could improve pollination for crops and other plants and provide delicious honey. The idea of becoming a beekeeper wasn’t Sean’s, but his father’s. Wearing a hot beekeeper suit and the likelihood of getting stung occasionally didn’t appeal to Phil; thus, the job was handed down to the younger member of the farming operation, Sean. He started with just one hive and the first year was a disaster. The queen’s eggs got into the top frames of the hive and the honey had to be discarded. The next year, honey was harvested, but the queen later died, and the hive collapsed. Sean learned a lot about the dos and don’ts of beekeeping throughout those two years. Despite a rocky start, Sean learned the craft and recognized the benefits of beeswax in skincare. Wanting to keep things simple and natural, he developed a lip balm using just five ingredients: beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter, jojoba oil, and natural flavor.
