Discovering a true passion The story of Nirosta begins more than a century ago, in 1912, in Krefeld in the state of North Thenania-Westphalia. Founded by ThyssenKrupp, a German steel group, the Nirosta brand is renowned for its unique stainless steel production. At that time, the two inventors Eduard Maurer and Benno Strauss filed a patent for the “process for manufacturing a stainless steel based on an alloy of nickel and chromium”. About thirty years ago, the Fackelmann Group took over the rights to the Nirosta brand, the invention of Benno Strauss and Eduard Maurer returned to their country of origin, Germany.
