"Connecting Indonesian cultural heritage to North America" Based in Vancouver, we strive to introduce a wide selection of Indonesian batik to conscious consumers in North America. Every single creation is carefully hand-made and inspired to proudly spread our diverse and rich culture. The Batik Library debuted in 2021 with the Parang Collection: naturally dyed 100% cotton batik scarves made with communal care in the Kemlagi village of Mojokerto. "The Batik Library is an invitation to consciously connect to stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces that are naturally dyed, feature playful details and made to inspire a connection back to nature." Mission To create a community engaged in conscious consumption by creating a deep, story-based connection between Indonesian batik including the legends and folklore behind the motifs. Vision To empower local Indonesian artisans to preserve sustainable and environmentally-safe traditional practices by creating an international demand for organic, natural production. Read their story
