What do a fox and a baker have in common? They are both active at night and have a soft spot for good baked goods. The Berliner Brotfuchs combines this commitment in his bread baking mixes — all based on an old, traditional family recipe. It was one of those dark autumn days, the first real autumn wind stormed outside, Corona had a firm grip on the country and my favorite bakery shop was supposed to close its doors forever to make way for the Xten heartless Friedrichshainer Späti, with brand-new neon signs. For a short time, the shop also became one of the reputable Corona test centers, but that's a completely different story... In the week after the branch closed, I sat at the breakfast table in the morning and the espresso maker was bubbling on the stove. Now there was an almost tasteless frozen product from a Späti who called himself a bakery café in the subline of his no longer completely stainless advertising sign. I started to think: Grandma always used to make delicious, homemade bread, I should be able to do that too!
