MomDoulaLife and the Vulva Love series were born out of shame. Watching people feel shame when saying the word VULVA or VAGINA. For way too many of us, the word vulva was whispered, avoided, or straight-up replaced with something cutesy or childish—like “cookie,” “flower,” or, in my case… “Dewey.” (Yes. Dewey. Imagine the awkwardness.) And that shame sticks. We’re taught early on that naming our bodies—accurately and confidently—is somehow dirty, inappropriate, or “too much.” But here’s the truth: Your vulva is just a part of you. It deserves to be named, cared for, and respected without giggles or shame. And calling it by its real name? That’s powerful.
