Arcturus was created to honor that passion and to share it with others. WHY THE NAME? Arcturus [Arc-ter-us] is one of the brightest stars in the night sky and the brightest in the northern celestial sphere. For us, the name represents guidance, endurance, and exploration. Historically used in celestial navigation, Arcturus has helped travelers find their way—an ideal symbol for a company dedicated to outdoor and survival gear. WHERE WE'RE FROM Arcturus is based in Vancouver, Washington. Yes, Vancouver—but not Canada. Washington—but not D.C. Just across the bridge from Portland—but not Maine.
