About Lewis Pogue

Lewis Pogue was first inspired in 2010 when Tom Simons, a healthcare CFO, was on a family trip to upstate New York from Atlanta, Georgia. Tom stopped at a small country store where he noticed a rack of health bars marketed as energy snacks for hikers, and he picked out a spicy, high-end chocolate bar that was totally different from any chocolate he'd ever had before. He loved it. He was hooked. And he saw an opportunity. Over the years, he kept coming back to his experience with that chocolate bar. He knew he was on to something. Tom comes from a long line of pioneers and entrepreneurs, among whom on his father’s side were the Lewises and on his mother's side, the Pogues, who were early American settlers, builders, and business owners. In October of 2020, Tom sat down with one of his three brothers to reassess his successful business career, but he was frustrated by the uninspired, bottom-line thinking of corporate America. And they devised a multi-phase plan to bring Lewis Pogue to fruition. Since then, Tom has been researching and roasting, tempering and tasting, crunching and conching, and ultimately perfecting chocolate bars with unique flavor profiles and textures that he is ecstatic to share with the world.
