About Istani

Istani is an independent, woman-owned lifestyle brand based in New York City and inspired by Pakistan, since 2019. We source handcrafted fabrics from local artisans in Pakistan to create timeless pieces. Our garments are designed for the modern and conscientious woman with an adventurous sense of style. We take our inspiration from the diversity of cultures, the richness of nature and the curious joy of being human. The Process Inspired by the Ajrak method of woodblock printing now only found in the rural workshops of Pakistan, Istani travels across the world to witness the beautiful and meticulous work of the craftsmen, hypnotized by the repetitive geometry featured on the completed fabric. Istani pulls from the past and across various cultures to create a hybrid style combining original textiles and classic silhouettes, always prioritizing quality over quantity. Read their story
