About Oak and Alder

I like to think that art, in all forms, contributes to our wellbeing and improves our awareness of the beauty around us. Choosing the type of artwork that surrounds us in our homes or workplace can change the feel of that space, which really is kind of magical. It may provoke thought and discussion or simply bring a calm energy to a room. The best part is, the choice is yours. After working as a government employee for some years I became a mother to twins and my perception of the world changed. I wanted to discover who I was as a mother but also who I was as a person. This is when my art journey began and Oak & Alder was born. As a self taught artist I am always learning and trying new things, my favourite mediums are digital design and watercolours. I thoroughly enjoy the creative process and love to see my designs in shops and homes. I am proud to be a Canadian artist and female business owner and am privileged to have partnerships with some amazing brands.
