Lead Head Glass terrariums are handcrafted out of reclaimed glass from deconstructed homes in Detroit. We model our terrariums after 19th century Wardian Cases, with an updated design. Who are we: LeadHead Glass began in 2013, born from a simple disagreement and a shared passion for creating. The honest truth? Chad wanted a pet turtle, and Derek wasn’t so sure. To bridge the gap, Chad suggested building a custom enclosure. That project quickly grew beyond a simple aquarium, evolving into a room-sized terrarium. When friends and family saw what we had built, their encouragement pushed us to take our designs further. Soon, we had a small, curated collection ready to share with shops like yours. From the start we were committed to a philosophy of sustainability. We source our glass by reclaiming it from deconstructed homes in Detroit, the city where we lived and worked. There is a history in every piece we use; the last time someone looked through this glass, they might have been watching their children play in the front yard or catching a glimpse of cars leaving the old Tiger Stadium. By breathing new life into materials that were once discarded and lost, we create something timeless. What began as a single terrarium has grown into a full line of original designs, each one moving directly from our hands to your shelves.
